What Lindsey says . . .
Through the years I have made every effort to cover my smile and minimize my laugh. I have had a wonderful life full of blessings, especially when I gave birth to my son Atlas Michael. But despite all of the good in my life, few people have seen me actually smile. My entire life I have worried about what my teeth look like and what people think when I smile. I was in constant pain between toothaches and the sadness of always covering who I am.
My life changed when I got the courage to meet with Dr. Haghighat. I was nervous and embarrassed, but they made me feel completely comfortable. Dr. Haghighat talked with me about all the options, and eventually, we decided "All-on-4" was best for me. I joked with them once and said: "Can we just get me beautiful in one day?" And little did I know they would change my life in just one day. In just a few hours they were able to do the surgery and give me a completely new smile. It's amazing that I am no longer in pain and finally feel like I am the true me. When someone makes me laugh, I don't cover my mouth. When someone makes me smile I don't wonder what they are thinking. And best of all, for the first time since my son was born (7 years ago) I am able to smile in a picture with him.
The option of All-on-4 didn't make me a different person; it simply let me finally be the real me. I would recommend this to everyone. It truly has been one of the biggest blessings of my life. The only regret I have is waiting so long to call Dr. Haghighat. I will forever be grateful for getting the opportunity to have the all on four (teeth in a day) procedure and have a smile I can wear proudly.
All-On-4 Dental Implants Treatment
Teeth may be lost for a variety of reasons, and it is not an uncommon theme that unless it hurts or interferes with function or appearance, treatment is delayed. In the extreme case, dental neglect may reach a point where teeth are no longer salvageable, and a state of terminal dentition is reached.
Similar to many like her, Lindsey had sought opinions for her failing and broken teeth over the years but was offered lengthy, expensive options and perhaps at times treatments with guarded longevity.
When we saw her for a consultation to discuss what options would best suit her dental needs, what struck me most was how young she was, so any treatment would need to be planned with long-term survival and success in mind. Aside from multiple missing teeth, most of the remaining upper teeth were heavily worn and in poor condition.

DR. KAMRAN HAGHIGHAT, B.D.S., M.S., P.C.
Lindsey's treatment was a collaborative effort between the surgical and prosthodontic teams. Her initial treatment involved placement of 4 dental implants in the upper jaw and on the same day we fabricated and delivered a fixed temporary bridge that was anchored to the implants. This would ensure that she left with a new and stable, attractive smile that she could wear proudly. At the same time, we restored her collapsed, which corrected her lower facial appearance to be one that was youthful and complemented her age.
The temporary bridge remained in place while the implants healed within the bone, which is typically a 4 to 6 month period. The immediate transformation seen in her appearance and confidence to smile freely was striking and a joy to witness.
After a few months of healing, while enjoying her newfound smile with her temporary bridge, her definitive upper All-On-4 restoration and two individual implant crowns for the lower jaw were delivered.
Thank you, Lindsey, for trusting Portland Perio Implant Center in gaining the smile you deserve.
