Dr. Haghighat has been my surgeon for the last 7 years, both before and after my stage 4 throat cancer radiation treatments, he initially did all the implant work for my cosmetic restoration and I was left with an absolutely beautiful smile and solid implants. Dr. Haghighat is an extremely capable and competent professional. He has an ability to quickly and thoroughly assess a patient’s needs and devise a surgical solution in even the most complicated of cases. Obviously the above is a glowing review of a perfectionist surgeon that gave me great results as a typical healthy implant restoration candidate but now let’s meet Dr. Haghighat 6 years later after I lost all my natural teeth to the radiation treatments required to save my life. My Oncologist thought the idea of implant restoration post radiation would be impossible or at the least extremely risky, that wasn’t good news, considering the impact that “Zero Teeth” would have on the quality of the remainder of my life. After consultation between my Oncologist and Dr. Haghighat, a careful and cautious approach to my implants was developed, with my jaw bone compromised by radiation the risks were high and the hopes of success were marginal. Dr. Haghihat carefully assessed my jaw and placed the first implant, no excessive bleeding and 6 months later, the first of six fully integrated implants was successfully placed. It is now 2 years later and implant by implant my mouth is two weeks away from being fully restored. I shouldn’t share this but there were times that financially I would not have been able to finish the reconstruction of my mouth without the spontaneous kindness and compassion of Kamran Haghighat, I am now ready to enjoy a normal life with food I can chew, not choke on, put down the ice cream and restore my health through proper nourishment or enjoy tapas at Toro Brava once again. Portland is lucky to have this level of competent and professional surgeon in their community. This man knows what he is doing and I will add that in even the most extreme moments of multiple extractions and multiple implant placements, I was never in pain during or after. The man is gifted!
