A.W.'s Double All On 4 Journey

A.W.'s journey to the Portland Perio Implant Center began with a familiar sense of apprehension, but tempered by the hope and determination that he had held through numerous consultations at other dental centers. Armed with the knowledge that his remaining teeth were in very bad condition, he arrived at our office to see if we could help to restore his smile.

A comprehensive evaluation of A.W.'s dental health was completed, using CBCT 3D radiography and intraoral digital scans. A.W.'s oral health and quality of life had been greatly affected with the condition of his dentition, which included decay and poor periodontal prognosis.

The Treatment: Double All-On-4 Dental Implants

We discussed all the restoration options for his situation and it was evident that the first step to reclaim his oral health was the removal of his remaining teeth. They had become a source of discomfort and embarassment. He had been unable to enjoy a meal for quite some time and the appearance of his teeth was always on his mind during any interactions.

We presented A.W. with a revolutionary solution—the all on 4 dental implant solution—a graftless approach that promised to transform his smile and restore his oral function. Four dental implants in each arch anchor a fixed, non-removable bridge crafted from Zirconia, offering strength, durability, and aesthetic appeal in equal measure.

On the day of treatment A.W. felt a sense of anticipation and relief to be having his decaying teeth extracted and his dental health restored. Implants were strategically placed according to the pre-determined dental plan. A temporary prosthesis was inserted, which gave A.W. functioning teeth while his mouth healed and the implants began the process of osseointegration.

In the months that followed, A.W. embarked on the path of healing. When the healing phase was completed, which is typicallly about six months, the final Zirconia bridges were fabricated, incorporating all the changes for the desired new smile.
