02-18-2024 “OK I waited two years after I had my surgery to give my review. The reason I did this is I feel like it would be a really good honest review now that time has passed.
My implants have been solidly in my jawline for a year and here’s my review, so let me start first of all. I have been been to different oral surgeons for the past 25 years and some oral surgeons have said nope I’m not gonna do this you don’t have the right jaw bone to do this. A little backstory about myself is that I was born without a lot of permanent teeth and my bottom was missing five teeth and never came in so my jawbone was really small and yeah, I had a Chiclets smile I would say. You might be able to look on my photo and see what it looks like. But I decided to have the surgery and I sat down with Dr. Haghighat and he was confident he could do it. I liked his staff and I decided to go for it.
Well I got the surgery done in one day so I have nine implants I believe that’s the final count. As a patient I would like to say that it’s 10% Dr. Haghighat and his staff and 90% you, so you have to follow his instructions to the T. I was on a liquid diet for nine months did everything that they said in the packet. Right after surgery ice every 20 minutes And I will tell you my surgery was successful. I’m really really happy with the results.
I said it’s been two years and I had a pretty major surgery because I had so many implants all done at once in the bottom jaw, and the top jaw. The one thing I was worried about is that I’d walk out after having the surgery and everybody would know that those teeth are fake too white, but Dr. Haghighat is an artist. I will tell you, people that I haven’t seen in years it takes a minute for them to realize there’s something different about me and the beauty of it is that he makes it looks so original that you’re not gonna be one of those people that is walking around with a super fake smile with these super white teeth. He really tries really hard to make sure that it fits your persona.
He did an amazing job like I said it’s been two years after the fact and I have no pain. I floss and I do all of his instructions because remember when you get these implants you’re making an investment in yourself. That’s why I follow the flossing and getting my teeth cleaned regularly. I will tell you I’ve never been happier. Honestly I have never even been able to bite fully into a burrito in my whole life and that’s the truth because I only had three teeth on the top and nothing on the bottom. If you’re gonna make this investment go for it, he’s a great surgeon. He cares! He is an artist. His staff is absolutely top-notch they care, and out of all of the oral surgeons that I’ve seen he was the one that I felt had the most confidence he knew what he was doing and he did an amazing job. I can’t say enough great things about him and his staff.”

10-10-2022. “Let me preface this – I have a little-understood health condition which makes it difficult for me to trust providers. And, I’ve lost teeth which happened after rushed/sloppy dental work. So, I tend to need more information which annoy even the most patient doctor.

Dr. Haghihat, and his office staff, have been stellar about dealing with my concerns and individual needs! Not only that, his work, to date has been equally stellar!

I looked for over two years for a dental professional who had experience with zirconia implants, excellent reviews, the right equipment, AND had deep experience. While my case may not be the most complex for him, it did require four implants (zirconia was my choice) and a pretty extensive bone graft which fortunately he has chosen to work on to his high standards!

While I still need to wait for healing around three of the implants as they were just put in, and a final “make-it-stronger” grafting to heal, I remain impressed with his standards. I’m always concerned about healing given my health, but so far, we’re moving toward a goal I never thought could be accomplished!

I’ll post a final update once all the healing takes place, in about 3-6 months, but if you’re going to trust anyone, this is the man, and the place!”

I’d rather be in labor with twins than have work done on my teeth. I had previous dental work that was falling apart due to age. 11-6-2021 “I had many cavities as a child mostly due to thin tooth enamel, followed by root canals and crowns into my early twenties. By age 50 the crowns needed replacement and/or tooth extractions which continued in my 60’s. At age 71 with still more failing crowns I decided to stop the endless cycle of crown, re-crown, extractions and remaking the partial dentures. My teeth had become dark and mismatched over the years with sensitive nerve endings.

I began researching full arch all on four dentures (as much as a layman can). I needed 20+ extractions, 8 implants as well as upper/lower full arches, and same-day temporary dentures.

Prior to surgery 3D scans were developed for implant placement and temporary denture fabrication. Surgery was a full day of extractions, implants, and fitting the temporary dentures on the newly placed implants. The post-surgery instructions were followed and my healing progressed per normal recovery periods. Fortunately the swelling and pain were minimal despite having 20+ extractions.

After 4 months Dr. Haghighat deemed the implants to be sufficiently bonded to bone and started developing the prototypes for zirconia arches. This required precision fitment, the prototypes were fabricated, placed and adjusted. They were in place for a few weeks to insure proper bite and alignment. Once verified the prototypes were shipped to the lab to be manufactured.

Completed zirconia arches were fitted last week and I couldn’t be happier with them. My primary goal was for them to feel comfortable and natural, but I also wanted them to be attractive. All boxes were checked. I couldn’t be happier with Dr. Haghighat’s abilities and precision. Dani his office manager has been so helpful with accommodating our special appointment scheduling since we live 2 hours away from the office, as well as becoming part of the family in the process.”

10-4-19 “As a person that’s congenitally missing 9 adult teeth it’s hard for me to find periodontists and dentists that aren’t dumbstruck by the enormity of my case. Luckily for me Dr. Haghighat isn’t one of them. I was weary of private clinics since I’d been treated at the OHSU dental school since childhood and every private clinic I’d been to seemed to want to upsell my already expensive necessary dental work with veneers I didn’t need or want. I found Dr. Haghighat after researching bone grafting experts in the Portland area. I was devastated after I’d had two bone grafts I needed to complete the implant process fail at the OHSU graduate student clinic. I was very self-conscious about the large holes left in my smile from this process and very reticent to put myself through another year of surgery, check-ups and bills. I couldn’t eat certain foods and I was terrified of job interviews where smiling is expected. It was after being scheduled for a brunch interview (my absolute nightmare) that I made the appointment for a consult. Meeting with Dr. Haghighat I was put at ease with how upfront he was about why he thought the grafting had failed and how he’d approach my case differently. The first Doctor was okay but not a good vibe – from encountering the receptionist up thru to meeting the Doctor. But upon entering Dr. Kamran’s offices, I was completely at ease. I recently had dental implants installed at this office and I was very pleased with the process and outcome. There is a good staff including Dr. Haghighat, dental assistant Melissa, and office manager Dani.

I visited two other dental surgeons before choosing Portland Perio based on Yelp reviews and an office visit. At first I was not sure that I wanted to travel to the city from the suburbs to have the work done. But there is easy street parking near to the office, and I did not have problems with traffic. They have a nice office on the tenth floor with a good view of the city.

I also liked that it is a low key office that has a few primary staff members. Another oral surgeon that I consulted had a large staff to deal with, and large prices to pay for the staff. The implants were done by Portland Perio for a relatively good price. Contrary to what another Yelp reviewer said, Dr. Haghighat is a nice friendly person, and a professional who does great work. That is also true for Melissa and Dani. 4-11-19

Kamran Haghighat and his team (Dani and Melissa) are second to none in my experience. I had older dental work bridge, a couple of cracked teeth (cyclist and grinder) and a failed old filing that required attention and Dr. Haghighat’s professional help. Dr. Haghighat placed three implants in for me after adult ortho. The procedures went exactly as planned. I have moved from Portland, OR, but I will always travel back to the Pacific Northwest for the professional services of Dr. Haghighat and his team. I had two wisdom teeth extracted, something I had put off as long as I could based on all the horror stories I had heard. Everyone in Dr. Haghighat’s office reassured me it would be easy, almost painless, and I scoffed, thinking that ‘almost painless’ means different things to different people. However, after local anesthesia, Dr. Haghighat told me ‘you’ll feel a little pressure’, I braced myself, preparing for the pain, I felt a little pressure, and he said, ‘ok, one down, one to go’. Having already lost a number of teeth and facing the prospect of more failing teeth, for many years I had come to terms with the challenges in eating and struggling with uncomfortable partial dentures. The idea of implants had always seemed complicated, painful and very lengthy. It was during one of my regular periodontal maintenance visits with Dr. Haghighat that he recommended implants treatment to me. However, to my astonishment his suggested solution appeared a lot easier. No grafting was needed and I would get new teeth in one day. I recently had an implant done by Dr. Haghighat and was so incredibly impressed by his expertise and his knowledgeable friendly staff. I’m extremely dental phobic but knew I had to get this implant done. From the second I walked in the door my fears were put at ease. He explained the procedure to me in great detail and assured me I would feel nothing! I’ve had an implant in the past (about 10 years ago) and it wasn’t a great experience, so I was a bit hesitant to go through the process again. He assured me the technology and technique had been improved immensely and that it would be a much smoother process this time. He was spot on! The day of my procedure Melissa, his assistant, went over the procedure and post-op instructions with me again and made sure all of my questions were answered. She then tucked me in and made sure I was comfortable before they started my surgery. I was pleasantly surprised that my extraction, bone graft, and implant only took about an hour! Dr. Haghighat was so efficient and precise that it really was painless! My recovery was exactly as they had prepared me for and I was back to normal in 2 days. I have since had my post-op appointments and have had no problems at all and am healing up well. I would whole-heartily recommend this office to anyone needing implants or any type of grafting done. Dr.Haghighat is simply the BEST at what he does. I am in the military and started looking for a doctor to correct my gum recession on the lower canine. I found Dr. Haghighat from the recommendation of a friend who previously had work done by Dr.Haghighat and praised his high quality of work, I decided to contact Portland Implant Center. I have to say that Dr.Haghighat did exceptional work. He and his staff were upbeat, friendly and professional. I highly recommend him.

Losing your four front teeth is not a pleasant experience, I can tell you this from first hand experience (I don’t recommend doing this). Fortunately, I was referred to Portland Implant Center by my general dentist following a bad accident. I was in a very fragile state during my first consult with Dr. Haghighat. I was still in shock from my accident, I didn’t know what the next step in my treatment would be, and I had no idea if I would ever smile again. I walked out of his office after my initial consult a little less fragile and confident that he would restore my smile. During the consult his staff was friendly and empathetic, he showed care and concern when asking me about my accident, he asked me about how I wanted my smile to look, he was very thorough in the description and timing of my treatment plan, and he asked me if I had any questions. After this visit, I knew it would take time to restore my smile, I knew there were going to be some uncomfortable days ahead, and I was certain Dr. Haghighat was the best periodontist to perform my treatment. Dr. Haghighat is a perfectionist. I quickly realized this after my first surgery with him… my smile was in good hands. I spent a lot of time in the office over the course of a year and a half. Dr. Haghighat and his staff always made me feel at home and comfortable throughout my treatment. I’ve had a great experience thus far with Dr. Haghighat. I had a crown on one of my front teeth come off and had A LOT of discomfort and irritation after it was cemented back on by my dentist. I went to see Dr. Haghighat and he diagnosed the issue and provided incremental solutions, which I found comforting. He didn’t instantly recommend surgery, but rather suggested treating the irritation with some peridex. Unfortunately, I had to resort a gum augmentation. Dr. Haghighat did a fantastic job. After the surgery, I had a couple concerns/questions and staff happily scheduled multiple follow-up appointments with me to make sure everything was healing okay. My crown came off…again. It was the weekend so I called Dr. Haghighat directly. I explained to him what was going on and he took the time to answer my questions. When I went in for my appointment, Dr. Haghighat, again, did a fantastic job. I was so pleased with how the tooth and my gum looked. But the tooth saga continues. I’ll hopefully be going back soon to change my cement retained crown for a screw retained. I would definitely recommend Dr. Haghighat’s practice.

Dr. Haghighat has been my surgeon for the last 7 years, both before and after my stage 4 throat cancer radiation treatments, he initially did all the implant work for my cosmetic restoration and I was left with an absolutely beautiful smile and solid implants. Dr. Haghighat is an extremely capable and competent professional. He has an ability to quickly and thoroughly assess a patient’s needs and devise a surgical solution in even the most complicated of cases. Obviously the above is a glowing review of a perfectionist surgeon that gave me great results as a typical healthy implant restoration candidate but now let’s meet Dr. Haghighat  6 years later after I lost all my natural teeth to the radiation treatments required to save my life. My Oncologist thought the idea of implant restoration post radiation would be impossible or at the least extremely risky, that wasn’t good news, considering the impact that “Zero Teeth” would have on the quality of the remainder of my life.  After consultation between my Oncologist and Dr. Haghighat, a careful and cautious approach to my implants was developed, with my jaw bone compromised by radiation the risks were high and the hopes of success were marginal. Dr. Haghihat carefully assessed my jaw and placed the first implant, no excessive bleeding and 6 months later, the first of six fully integrated implants was successfully placed. It is now 2 years later and implant by implant my mouth is two weeks away from being fully restored. I shouldn’t share this but there were times that financially I would not have been able to finish the reconstruction of my mouth without the spontaneous kindness and compassion of Kamran Haghighat, I am now ready to enjoy a normal life with food I can chew, not choke on, put down the ice cream and restore my health through proper nourishment or enjoy tapas at Toro Brava once again. Portland is lucky to have this level of competent and professional surgeon in their community. This man knows what he is doing and I will add that in even the most extreme moments of multiple extractions and multiple implant placements, I was never in pain during or after. The man is gifted!

At the start of their relationship, my father was the typical patient who needed some implants due to poor oral hygiene. Yes, I had my implant done in January 2016!  It was painless and took less than two hours. Implant in one day!  This tooth is my lateral incisor, which is right next to front tooth. I’ve had a post in it since I was 13yrs old. I knew in time I would need a bone graph and implant. I also needed it to be perfect and it is!  So here’s something for the review!  The temporary tooth Dr. Haghighat made was BETTER than any of the other three crowns I’ve had in my 20 years!  This guy is seriously the BEST so if you don’t want to take a chance with your smile ( life) I’d make sure to go see him!

I had an extraction, bone graft, tissue regeneration and implant placed by Dr. Haghighat. I am so pleased with the work and the staff. I was extremely nervous about the procedure as I’ve had much trauma with my teeth including a long ago car accident. Melissa, the dental tech, and Dani, office manager, were so compassionate. I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to Dr. Haghighat. My father has been a patient of his for many years now. Dr. Kamran was recommended to me by my general dentist after an implant from another local dental surgeon failed after only 2-3 years and I was left with no hope or a corrective plan from the original surgeon.

Dr. Haghighat assessed my situation and suggested a corrective plan which involved a bone graft and the removal of the original botched implant. It took several months and the doctor is a perfectionist and insisted on doing it correctly and monitored my progress closely. After the process was completed the implant was reinstalled. It was unfortunate that Dr. Haghighat had to redo the inferior work of another, but I am so thankful he did. He never complained or criticized the work of the other surgeon. The staff at the Portland Implant Center is very professional and helped guide me along in my journey.  3/24/17

I had to get my back left tooth re-surfaced (basically removed completely due to decay), and Kamran did a stellar job.  It was quick, easy, and painless.  I highly recommend that if you need a specialist, go book an appointment and have him help you.

There was an issue with insurance that had given me a headache (not literally :)), where they weren’t going to cover the bill since it “wasn’t deemed as necessary”.  Which is odd, because if a tooth is decaying, I’d argue that it’s pretty necessary…  So I did.

The insurance company had basically mentioned that there was a back and forth needed between the consultant to move forward.  The office had sent the necessary paperwork, and something had gotten mixed up or “missed” along the way.  I worked with the receptionist, Dani, and she was extremely helpful and patient in assisting me on my claim.  I wasn’t in the best financial stability at the time, and so every dollar counted in helping reduce my bill, especially when I NEEDED this procedure.

After Dani and I had stayed in communication, she was able to conclude that the insurance folks had dropped the ball on my claim (go figure), and that I actually was only responsible for a fraction of the total amount!

This was extremely important in really just figuring out the “why” behind it, and simply making it right.  Even if I had to pay the full amount, as long as the T’s were crossed and the i’s were dotted, I’d totally understand.  In this case, Dani made the extra effort in helping solve and figure out the claim.

Kamran does great work, he’s honest, up front, and he’s a professional in the industry.  The ladies that work with him, Dani, will go the extra length in making sure that you’re helped where it’s necessary.  I recommend them all to help assist you in your dental needs.

This place is marvelous. The Dr. is incredibly skilled and efficient. Staff is friendly, courteous, and on top of their game. The office is wonderfully clean and well kept.
If you’re ever in need of these services, there is no need to consider any other office in town.
